Hi friends,
If you’ve followed our journey through The Chi Society, then you already know how much love, laughter, and inspiration our tiny Chihuahuas bring into the world. But today, I want to share something bigger. A vision that’s been brewing in my heart for a long time: The Chi Ranch.
This isn’t just a dream about land, homes, or wagging tails. This is about creating a sanctuary—for rescue Chihuahuas, for creativity, and for community.
Why The Chi Ranch?
For years, I’ve felt a calling to create a space that’s more than a shelter, more than a house. I wanted to build a safe haven—a space that’s equal parts cozy sanctuary, storytelling studio, and spiritual retreat. A home where every single Chihuahua is cherished and celebrated, and where fellow dog lovers can come to reconnect with joy.
But more than anything, this vision was born from my own journey.
A Little About Me
I’m Lorena, the human behind The Chi Society—and behind the camera of Keto and Coco’s viral adventures. I’ve worn many hats: marketer, creative, content creator, real estate dabbler, and most importantly, full-time Chihuahua mom. I built The Chi Society as an outlet during a tough chapter of my life, and through it, I rediscovered my purpose: telling meaningful stories and advocating for the tiniest, most overlooked dogs in rescue.
Over time, this little brand has grown into a community. And now, it’s time for our next evolution.
The Hard Part: Asking for Help
I’ll be honest—this part didn’t come easy. Asking for money, even for something I believe in deeply, felt… vulnerable. I wrestled with thoughts like, “Who am I to ask?” and “What if they think it’s selfish?” But here’s what shifted everything for me:
I realized that The Chi Ranch isn’t just for me. It’s for every Chihuahua that needs a soft landing. For every animal lover who longs for a place to connect. And for every person who believes that tiny hearts can make a massive impact.
So I’m not just asking for support—I’m inviting you to become part of this legacy.
What We’re Building
We’re raising funds to bring The Chi Ranch to life: a modular home for me and my pack, individual guest houses for visitors and volunteers, a media studio to continue creating joyful content, and eventually, retreat experiences for supporters and fellow dog lovers.
We’re starting with a fundraising goal of $500,000, with donation tiers that offer heartfelt thank-yous, special perks, and even the chance to stay at the ranch once it’s built. Every bit helps—and every name will be part of this story.
What’s Next
This “Progress Updates” section will serve as our living journal. I’ll be sharing photos, sketches, milestones, and behind-the-scenes updates as we build this dream from the ground up. My hope is that you’ll feel as close to this journey as I do, because it belongs to all of us.
Thank you for being part of The Chi Society family. Whether you donate, share, or simply cheer us on from afar—you’re part of this.
With love and paws,
Lorena (and Keto & Coco)

I absolutely love this idea and vision! I am a volunteer at my local municipal shelter. I work primarily with the small dogs. I was not a chi-person prior to volunteering, but after 6 years with the chi’s, I could not love them more. I brought home my first last April. Henry is a 14 year old chihuahua who is blind and has skin issues. He was going to be euthanized, but he still has so much life left in him….so now he is living out that life with me! Thank you for what you are doing and I would LOVE to visit your Chi Ranch once it is up and running!
